Hi! I’m Caitlin Riney — founder and buyer of George Gregory and an individual with a deep love for menswear and community-driven retail. Back in 2016, I left my life in Chicago and returned home to Detroit with a dream that had been quietly waiting for its moment. When you’re unfulfilled in your job, fueled by a love of personal style, and longing to be closer to family — that combination creates the momentum you need to take a leap.
Fast forward eight years, and George Gregory has grown into a beloved staple at 1422 Michigan Ave in the heart of Corktown, one of Detroit’s most charming neighborhoods. Named after the middle names of my father and two brothers, George Gregory was built with a simple but meaningful goal: that everyone leaves in at least a slightly better mood than when they arrived.
We carry a thoughtful mix of pieces for everything from relaxed Sundays to business-casual days to big nights out — masculine with a sense of creativity and play. With sizes ranging from S–XXXL and a variety of price points, we aim to make personal style feel accessible, inclusive, and fun.
I’m so proud of how far we’ve come and incredibly grateful to everyone who’s supported us along the way. The ride is still wild, and the best part is getting to learn about you. Let’s keep building something great together. See you at 1422.
